PREPARATION OF THIS DOCUMENT

The original Circular was published in print when none of the project documents was available in digital format. It has been modified for publication in the FAO Corporate Document Repository http://www.fao.org/documents/ and on CD ROM and to provide links to the full text documents, where available.

A prerequisite to the planning and implementation of a research or development activity in aquaculture, whether it be the formulation of a national aquaculture development plan or the formulation of a fish feed, is first to be aware of the relevant published information available on the subject; the latter serving as the historical memory chip or knowledge base upon which all responsible decisions and actions are based. The aim of the present document is therefore to compile a list of available FAO field project reports on aquaculture.

The 1,712 reports listed in this document were produced by 257 FAO field projects between 1966 and 1995. Within countries and regions the references are listed by project symbol (eg. RAS/74/013) order. This document does not include the reports on aquaculture produced by the FAO Regular Programme and FAO regional bodies as these have been covered in similar lists published in the same series as follows:

i. A list of selected FAO publications related to aquaculture, 1966 - 1989.

FAO Fish.Circ., (744) Rev.2 60 p. 1990. Microfiche No: 296595

(ii) An indexed list of FAO publications related to aquaculture, 1960 - 1997.

FAO Fish.Circ., (924):71p. 1997

This document was prepared as part of the on-going activities of the FAO Fisheries Branch Library to disseminate published information of FAO in the area of fisheries and aquaculture.
